Building Envelope Improvement Program
What is it?
Invest in energy-efficient building envelope improvements and earn rebates for a wide range of upgrades at your facility.
How does it work?
There are two components of this program:
- Solar Window Film Insulation
Reduce solar heat gain through windows with solar window film installation.
- Rebate: $1.25 per square foot of glass area covered.
- Wall, Ceiling and Roof Insulation
Reduce heat transfer through walls, ceilings and roofs by installing insulation that meets or exceeds our energy-efficiency standards. This will help reduce commercial heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) load and improve comfort.
- Rebate: $0.255 per square foot of ceiling area, $0.40 per square foot of wall area, and $0.15 per square foot of roof insulation.
How do I participate?
To participate, please follow these steps:
- Mail or e-mail your project proposal to Tampa Electric. Once your proposal is received, a Tampa Electric representative may schedule an on-site visit for pre-inspection.
- After the pre-inspection is complete or Tampa Electric approves your proposal, download and submit a Solar Window Film, Wall Insulation, Ceiling Insulation, and/or Roof Insulation application(s) to Tampa Electric. Once your application is received, a Tampa Electric representative may schedule an on-site post-inspection.
- Tampa Electric will process the rebate check after the program guidelines are met. Please allow 4 weeks to process your rebate check.
