Refrigeration (Anti Condensate) Program

What is it?

The Refrigeration program is designed to help you reduce electric strip heater usage in refrigeration equipment. You can earn a rebate based on $0.65 per linear foot of anti-condensate heat strip.

How does it work?

Any commercial/industrial customer meeting the company's requirements for participation is eligible. The program applies to customers who are retrofitting or replacing existing refrigeration equipment or installing new refrigeration equipment. Refrigeration controls and equipment must be designed and operated to reduce Tampa Electric's peak system demand.

You provide Tampa Electric with your equipment specification information, and Tampa Electric will use an electric strip kilowatt (kW) display to verify peak demand reduction. Then you submit an anti-condensate heat control rebate form to Tampa Electric. The form must be signed by the contractor certifying that the equipment installed meets manufacturer's specifications.

How do I participate?

To participate, please follow these steps:

  1. Mail or e-mail your project proposal to Tampa Electric. Once your proposal is received, a Tampa Electric representative may schedule an on-site visit for pre-inspection.
  2. After the pre-inspection is complete or Tampa Electric approves your proposal, download and submit the Refrigeration (Anti Condensate) program application to Tampa Electric. Once your application is received, a Tampa Electric representative may schedule an on-site post-inspection.
  3. Tampa Electric will process the rebate check after the program guidelines are met.
