Solar Rebates

Tampa Electric now offers rebates when you install a new photovoltaic (PV) and/or solar water heating systems in your home or business. Beginning in 2011, we will offer $1.5 million in rebates each year for five years to encourage the installation of PV and solar water heater systems. Rebates are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Existing systems will not qualify for the rebate.

Customers claim all Tampa Electric rebate dollars available for photovoltaic (PV) installations.

Due to an overwhelming response from customers seeking rebates to install new photovoltaic systems at their home or business, the more than $1 million Tampa Electric made available on Oct. 3 has been completely reserved. Customers can submit their contact information to be notified prior to the next offering.

Photovoltaic (PV) Installation

Residential and business customers can receive up to $2 per watt, up to a maximum of $20,000, when a PV system is installed and interconnected to Tampa Electric's grid. To get started, complete and submit a PV reservation form.

Solar Water Heater Installation

Residential customers can receive up to $1,000 when a new solar water heater system is installed. To get started, complete and submit a Solar Water Heater reservation form. Solar water heating systems include both storage tanks and solar collectors.
