What if I do not qualify?
If you do not qualify for an energy-saving kit through the Neighborhood Weatherization program, you may be able to obtain a kit or other energy-saving items by participating in one of the following programs.
Agency Outreach program – provides qualifying customers with bill payment assistance through the Federal Government's Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). To be eligible to receive assistance, your household's income may not exceed 150 percent of the poverty guidelines. You may apply at one of the local agency providers listed on the Florida Department of Community Affairs website. Tampa Electric makes self-install energy-saving kits available to LIHEAP to distribute to qualifying customers.
Energy Education Outreach program – offers customers the opportunity to invite an energy expert from Tampa Electric to present valuable energy-saving tips and program information at your event. An event can include a group of customers gathering for a neighborhood meeting, a classroom of adults and/or children, a business function and more. Visit Tampa Electric's Speakers Bureau page to submit your request. Tampa Electric customers who attend the event may qualify for a self-install energy-saving kit.
